Nachvak-Brook

Nachvak Brook

North of Base Camp, this spectacular journey highlights the beginning of a 100-year old Inuit trail that was used as a main transportation route by the Labrador and Quebec Inuit.

The excursion to Nachvak Brook is offered only upon specific request by guests during the booking process.

Nachvak, usually a frequent polar bear sighting spot, is accessible solely by helicopter. However, as there has not been any trail maintenance for many years, encountering bears poses a significant risk. Upon arrival a short hike brings you to a towering Inukshuk which marks the area. Catch a glimpse of black bears fishing or wolves scavenging along the banks of the rich fishing grounds.
